Arsenal assist machine would jump at transfer to Euro giants amid exit talk

Mesut Ozil would jump at the chance to re-sign for Real Madrid with his Arsenal future in some doubt, according to reports from Bild.

The Germany international, although a somewhat divisive figure, has impressed since his 2013 move to the Emirates Stadium from the Bernabeu and wowed last term with 19 assists in Premier League action – the highest tally in the division by some distance.

However, The Times have claimed that his Arsenal future, along with team-mate Alexis Sanchez, is the subject of some doubt with the Gunners having not been able to sort out contract negotiations with the 27-year-old regarding a new deal.

Ozil is now in the final 24 months of his stay in north London, and his value is likely to tumble from the club record £42.5m they paid for him if the situation drags on.

And further to this, Bild have suggested that the creative World Cup-winning midfielder would jump at the chance to move back to Real, whom he starred for prior to joining Arsenal.

Los Blancos’ desire to re-sign the player is unknown, but the German publication also moot Bayern Munich as a potential destination, albeit club chief, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is not a big fan of Ozil.
