The Daily Mirror are reporting that Turkish side Galatasaray are interested in tabling a bid for out-of-favour Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski.
The Gunners outcast spent last season on loan at Italian giants Inter Milan and could now be making his way to Istanbul after Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoglu expressed his interest in the German international.
Podolski found the net just once in 17 Serie A appearances for Inter under former Man City boss Roberto Mancini, and his seven substitute Premier League appearances for Arsenal before his move to the San Siro saw him fail to score once.
Galatasaray would represent a fresh start for the 30-year-old if he decides to leave the Emirates.
However Podolski – who has 124 caps for his country – has also said he is open to remaining with the north London club and expects to be there for pre-season.
“There’s bound to be speculation in the coming weeks, but at the moment it looks like I will be going back to London,” he said.
“Things can always change, but if needs be I will remain at Arsenal next season.”
Inter Milan finished last season in eighth place in Serie A, missing out on European qualification.
