In his Premier League predictions for Sky Sports, Charlie Nicholas has picked out Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the man who could make the difference against Burnley.

What did he say?

The Gunners have been without the Gabon international for the past three games due to the red card he picked up against Crystal Palace. The north London side did not lose a single game in his absence, registering draws against Sheffield United and Chelsea, and a win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round.

But with the former Borussia Dortmund set to return from suspension for the clash at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon, Nicholas has pinpointed the 30-year-old to turn the tie in Arsenal's favour.

He said: "It is a tough game for Arsenal. They are the same as Burnley - intriguing in their inconsistency. Arsenal fans do appreciate what Mikel Arteta is trying to do, bringing appetite and energy to the team and giving his side the chance to learn from the philosophy he has brought in. The young players have bought into it.

"I think he has inherited a mess, though. To draw 12 games is a scandal and the defence has been useless. Perhaps Pablo Mari will be able to bolster it - we'll see. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is coming back fresh, which could be the difference here."

Talisman

Make no mistake about it, Aubameyang has been Arsenal's talisman all season. The forward has struck an incredible 16 times in just 26 games across all competitions, so there is no doubt he will be returning to the Gunners' starting line-up for the clash against Burnley.

And as Nicholas suggests, the fact he has had this mini-break, means he may well come more refreshed and hungrier than ever to get back amongst the goals. His three-game ban means he is now third on the Premier League's top-scorers for this season with 14, two behind second-placed Sergio Aguero, and three behind the man in first, Jamie Vardy.

Aubameyang will be itching to get amongst the goals and look to retain his Golden Boot crown from last season. And that's exactly why he could prove to be the decisive factor against Burnley.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's deal for Pablo Mari can help unlock this Arsene Wenger signing's true potential.
