The former Chelsea player is on the Gunners’ shortlist, as they look to strengthen their squad for a title push next season. Arsenal topped the Premier League during the early parts of the season, but now lie 7 points behind leaders Liverpool with 6 games remaining.
Kalou was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in January, but the Ivorian revealed he turned down a move in order to stay with Lille. But the Gunners won’t take no for an answer, and are preparing a second bid for the striker this summer. They may be more fortunate this time, with Kalou interested in leaving the club for a new challenge.
The Ivorian left Chelsea in 2012 for a free transfer, but has revealed he would be open to a move back to England: “There has been a lot of talking about me going back to England. I had an amazing time with Chelsea and I always keep that good memory with me.” said Kalou.
“If I have the chance to go back, I would love to, because it’s the most exciting league in the world so I would like to try it again. Whatever team comes for me after the World Cup, I can decide where I can develop as a player, where I can have an impact, because it’s important to go to a team who suit me and who give me the opportunity to excel.”
