Arsenal boss targetting move for Italian defensive star

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has put Juventus’ Daniele Rugani on his transfer wish list, according to reports from CalcioMercatoWeb.

The Italian centre-back only joined the Serie A champions from Empoli over the summer after the Old Lady bought out their domestic rivals’ share of a co-ownership deal.

And although the 21-year-old is yet to feature in competitive action for Juve, Wenger is a big fan of him and is already looking at a 2016 move.

Reports claim that the Frenchman has had scouts watching the enforcer closely to assess his abilities ahead of a possible swoop.

The Gunners have been anything but solid at the back so far this season, and with Per Mertesacker ageing and Laurent Koscielny prone to injury, Rugani could get game time in North London.

However, Juventus are eager to keep hold of their starlet, so Arsenal’s hopes may hinge on the player himself agitating for a transfer in search of regular action.
