Arsenal boss plotting summer spending spree

Arsene Wenger is planning ahead for his summer transfer business, with deals for Schalke’s Julian Draxler and Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata in the pipeline, according to the Daily Mail.

Wenger knows he is under huge pressure to deliver top class signings this summer, after watching his sides title challenge fall to pieces in recent weeks, whilst their top four hopes are under serious threat from an Everton side that have won seven consecutive Premier League games.

The Gunners boss has hinted he is already looking ahead to his summer transfer business, which is the clearest indication yet he will sign a new contract at the Emirates.

The club were heavily linked with both Morata and Draxler in the January transfer window, but neither deal was able to be completed.

The club are looking to avoid a repeat of the frustrations they suffered last summer in their pursuits of Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez, and are said to have already made contact with both Schalke and Real Madrid.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash with West Ham, Arsene Wenger said: “We do spend time on next season, we are really focused and working very hard.

“Every day we spend time on that.”
