Arsenal boss readying £13.2m move for red-hot Man United reject

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is considering a shock £13.2m move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez, according to reports from Sport.

The Mexico international only left Manchester United over the summer after falling out of favour under Louis van Gaal, but his form in Germany has been electric thus far.

The 27-year-old has netted a stunning 18 goals in 22 appearances for Bayer, which has irked United fans given that their own crop of strikers have misfired for much of 2015/16.

And it appears that Wenger has been suitably impressed by ‘Chicharito’ – The Little Pea – with a £13.2m offer reportedly being considered.

The Bundesliga side are likely to rebuff any interest, even though the mooted fee the Gunners are set to offer up is almost double the figure they paid for Hernandez earlier this year.

The ex-Chivas Guadalajara marksman is known as a predatory front-man, but his all-round game has been criticised in the past.
