Arsenal boss set to recall ‘bad boy’ star

Arsene Wenger is set to put Wojciech Szczesny back in goal as his Arsenal side face champions Manchester City this afternoon, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Polish stopper has featured just once in 2015 and has been out of the side since the New Year’s Day loss at Southampton.

Szczesny was blamed for both of the Saints’ goals on the South Coast as the Gunners slipped to defeat and then riled his manager by smoking in the showers after the game.

Wenger fined the ‘keeper £20,000 for his actions and has since been using summer signing David Ospina as his No. 1.

However, the move is believed to have been made by the Frenchman to give his glovesman a break from the action, which is a tactic he’s used in the past with his shot-stoppers – most famously Jens Lehmann.

Arsenal travel to City knowing that a good result is a must following wins from top four rivals Manchester United, Southampton, Spurs and Liverpool on Saturday.
