The Brazilian-born Spain international arrived at Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid over the summer in a £32m deal with a reputation as one of the world’s most-feared marksmen.
And he seems to have translated the form he showed in Spain – where he notched over 30 goals last season – to English football, with a staggering eight efforts in his first six league games.
Wenger’s side will travel across London on Sunday to face Chelsea with revenge for last term’s 6-0 drubbing on the agenda, and the Frenchman has revealed that he’s wary of the threat Costa presents:
“He has done fantastically well, I am impressed by how well he has done. Coming from outside I have never seen a player adapt so quickly and the Premier League suits him. I hope he will dis-adapt for Sunday” he is quoted by The Express.
“He has also got players who can feed him like Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, who can find him with final balls.
“He has all the aspects of a striker that you like. He’s focused, always determined, ready for a fight and I’m impressed.”
Costa has been battling a hamstring injury for much of the season so far, but he is expected to be fit for the Arsenal clash.
