Arsenal boss would welcome Fabregas return

Left Attacking Midfield - Cesc FabregasArsene Wenger has said he would be happy to welcome Cesc Fabregas back to Arsenal at some point in the future, according to the BBC.

26-year-old Fabregas played 303 games for the Gunners before completing his £35m switch to Barcelona in the summer of 2011.

He was strongly linked with a return to the Premier League during the last window, with Manchester United the team most closely linked.

However Fabregas has said in an interview with the Daily Mail that he would love to return to Arsenal in a coaching capacity at the end of his career.

And Wenger – whose side currently sit top of the Premier League table – has confirmed he would welcome the Spaniard back with open arms.

“I am very happy that a player of his intelligence, technical ability and knowledge of the game would come back one day,” said Wenger.

The Spanish World Cup winner also revealed he sees Arsenal as genuine title challengers this season, adding the Gunners have the ‘strength of character’ to make a real fight for the Premier League crown.

“I hope he is right on the two sides,” added Wenger. “That he’ll come back shows he has kept fond memories of this club.”
