As is always the case with most of the biggest and best clubs in Europe, trying to get a head-start on rivals in order to capture the newest sensation breaking on to the scene is a major battleground. Scouts are flooding everywhere to cast a keen eye on rising stars or those who have gone under the radar, and Bruno Guimaraes certainly fits under the latter.

Speaking to Portuguese publication O Jogo, Mario Celso Petraglia confirmed that as well as Benfica making a firm offer for the Brazilian, the Gunners have also made their interest clear, but that the north Londoners will take action on that at the end of the season.

At only 22, Guimaraes still has plenty of room to improve, and he could do exactly that under Arteta's guidance at the Emirates.
