Having ended the January transfer window with two new signings to their name in Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares, Arsenal have ensured they have significantly strengthened their defensive area.

The arrival of the duo gives Mikel Arteta some vital options to help his back-line, particularly with the likes of Sead Kolasinac, Kieran Tierney and Calum Chambers all ruled out of action for the foreseeable future.

Having guided his team into the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a victory over Bournemouth, the Gunners head coach will be hoping for a similar result when they return to Premier League action to take on Burnley.

With a few of his first-team stars rested for the clash against the Cherries, Arteta will no doubt look to return to full-strength for the trip to Turf Moor on Sunday.

Below is a look at how the Gunners may line up.

Arsenal's potential line-up to face Burnley

In goal, Bernd Leno should come back into the team to replace second-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, whilst David Luiz should also return to the starting line-up - particularly with Shkodran Mustafi going off injured against Bournemouth. And standing at 6 foot 4, Pablo Mari might be given an immediate introduction to English football to help Arsenal out with the aerial duels.

In central midfield, whilst Matteo Guendouzi was hailed by Arsenal fans for his impressive display against Eddie Howe's side, Uruguay international Lucas Torreira may come in to offer some more defensive protection in front of the back four.

Arteta will also likely ring the changes in the more attacking positions too. Joe Willock played in the number ten role against Bournemouth and received glowing praise from Gunners supporters. However, having been an unused substitute on Monday night, the more experienced Mesut Ozil may be recalled.

Similarly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's return from a three-match suspension for his red card against Crystal Palace gives Arteta another headache in terms of team selection. Gabriel Martinelli has enjoyed a blistering start to life in north London with ten goals across all competitions, so the Gunners head coach may be tempted to keep him in the team, and drop Alexandre Lacazette instead.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's Pablo Mari loan deal can help unlock this Arsene Wenger signing's true potential.
