Arsenal clear to sign £50m star

Arsenal have been handed a major boost in the race for Edinson Cavani, with reports from The Metro claiming that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to accept offers for the striker.

The Uruguayan has emerged as a target for the Gunners in recent times, with Arsene Wenger’s side having been linked with him through many of the most recent transfer windows.

Despite only signing for PSG from Napoli back in 2013, Cavani’s spell in Paris has been a turbulent one, with the once prolific marksman having been forced to operate, mostly, from a wide role due to the presence of talismanic, and controversial, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Even though the links with an exit have been consistent and abundant, the South American looks likely to finally move away from the Parc des Princes at the end of the season, with Arsenal firmly in the hunt.

Cavani is valued at around £50m and reports claim that Wenger is ready make a major effort to land the 28-year-old.
