Arsenal confident of landing long-serving Chelsea shotstopper

Arsenal are confident that Chelsea shotstopper Petr Cech will be allowed to join them in the summer if the 32 year-old insists that he wants to make the move, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The Blues keeper and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin are believed to be Arsenal’s top summer transfer targets although the Gunners have not yet made an official move for either player.

Manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be torn as to whether or not he should seek a replacement for David Ospina as No 1 goalkeeper. The Colombian has starred during the North London club’s stellar run of form in recent months, which may see Wenger stick with him for next season.

However, with Cech determined to play regular football instead of remaining an understudy to Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal are ready to enquire about bringing him to the Emirates.

The Blues can wrap up the Premier League title with a win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
