Arsenal could land World Cup ace… thanks to Man United

Arsenal may make a summer move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, if David de Gea ends up joining the European champions from Manchester United, according to reports from the Express.

The Costa Rican stopper rose to prominence last summer after his heroics at the World Cup, helping his nation to book a shock spot in the quarter-finals.

He then switched from Levante to Real, and has not since played regularly this season thanks to the presence of club icon Iker Casillas.

And with Los Blancos thought to be targeting a summer move for United’s De Gea, the 28-year-old’s future could be plunged into further doubt.

This has alerted Arsenal, and Liverpool, with reports claiming they could move for Navas.

The Gunners’ goalkeeping situation has been unclear in recent times, with Wojciech Szczesny having been punished for smoking in the shower block after his side’s 2-1 loss to Southampton over the festive period.
