Arsenal could miss out on Carlo Ancelotti, fans react

Ever since Arsene Wenger announced last week that he will be stepping down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, the focus has turned to his potential replacement.

Numerous names have emerged in the betting market, but the fans have made it clear that they are certainly not interested in Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers taking over.

One man who is often linked to a managerial vacancy in the Premier League is former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian has been out of work since getting sacked by Bayern Munich last year, and is looking for a fresh challenge.

The latest reports indicate that the 58-year-old will not be taking on the role at the Emirates due to another offer.

According toΒ Sky in Italy, Ancelotti has been offered the position as head of the Italian national team after holding talks with the Italian Football Federation commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and his colleague Alessandro Costacurta.

The report claims that the topic of backroom staff was discussed, which suggests that Ancelotti is seriously considering the offer.

If so, then the former AC Milan boss can swiftly be ruled out of the running for the Arsenal job.

As expected, the news has got Gunners fans talking.
