Arsenal could sign Toulouse’s in-form striker Wissam Ben Yedder within the “coming hours”, according to Canal+’s Ludo Deroin.
The Gunners have been on the lookout for a centre-forward for much of the summer, but have so far baulked at Lyon’s £50m valuation of Alexandre Lacazette and slipped behind Juventus in the race for Gonzalo Higuain.
With Olivier Giroud likely to miss the start of the season after a lengthy EURO 2016 with France, Arsene Wenger is growing increasingly desperate for at least one attacking addition, and Deroin has claimed that Ben Yedder is a serious target.
He tweeted: “Wissam Ben Yedder should sign for Arsenal or Sevilla in the coming hours.”

Although Deroin, an expert on African and Ligue 1 football, highlights Sevilla as an option, it’s worth noting that the Europa League winners are closing in on a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Luciano Vietto, who also operates as a striker.
Ben Yedder may be a somewhat underwhelming target, but the 25-year-old smashed a staggering 17 goals in 35 league appearances for Toulouse last season, which is a mightily impressive tally considering his club side only narrowly avoided relegation.
The three-cap France U-21 international has also been aligned with West Ham in recent days.
