Chelsea starlet Nathaniel Chalobah is being carefully watched by local rivals Arsenal, who are ready to bid for the youngster in the summer.
Chalobah has enjoyed an impressive loan spell with Championship club Watford, scoring 4 goals in his 30 league appearances.
The centre back turned midfielder has also become an essential part of England Under-21s set-up and is set to play a vital part for the Young Lions in the European Championships in Israel in June.
Strong performances for both club and country have led to a rise of interest in Chalobah, with Arsene Wenger being one of his biggest admirers. The Frenchman is set to bid for the 18-year-old, and will try to lure the youngster with the offer of regular first-team Premier League football, something he will have to wait for at Chelsea.
It will be a busy summer for the young star, but speaking to The Express, he he reiterated that his focus will only be on England. Speaking ahead of England Under-21’s match against Austria, Chalobah said:
“All the lads are ready and prepared for the game, and for the summer. It would be a great achievement for me to get to Israel. It’s a big achievement just playing for the Under-21s, but getting to the finals is even better. It shows how well my season has been going if I manager to make the squad.”
Chalobah should feature for England Under-21s tonight against Austria, before returning to Watford to help their bid to secure promotion to the Premier League for next season.
