Arsenal enter transfer battle with Man United for feared striker

Arsenal are firmly in the hunt for Manchester United target Carlos Bacca, with reports from Metro having revealed that the Gunners have been scouting the striker.

The Colombian forward is considered to be one of European football’s most feared marksmen, with a recent two-goal haul having helped his side to Europa League glory at the expense of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

United have since been heavily linked with Bacca, but reports claim that Arsenal have been watching the £21.3m closely in recent times.

Arsene Wenger is thought to be keen on the prolific hit-man, with scouts from North London having travelled to Spain to witness his abilities first hand.

Bacca notched 20 La Liga goals last season and fired a further seven efforts in Sevilla’s successful Europa League campaign, which booked them a spot in 2015/16’s Champions League.

The 28-year-old also featured in last summer’s World Cup and has 17 senior international caps to his name.
