Arsenal are exploring the possibility of luring Jese Rodriguez to north London from Real Madrid in January following Alexis Sanchez’s hamstring injury, according to reports from Don Balon.

Arsene Wenger’s decision to risk his Chilean superstar against Norwich on Sunday backfired when the ex-Barcelona man limped off in the second half and it’s expected that he’ll be out of action for at least the rest of the year.

This has come as a real blow for the Gunners, who are also without Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck, and reports claim that the club are eager to boost their options with a move for Jese when the looming transfer window opens.

The 22-year-old is seen as a back-up option at the Bernabeu, which may tempt him to move on either on loan or permanently, with regular playing time likely to open up the outside chance of making Spain’s EURO 2016 squad.

Jese can play on either flank, as a ‘No.10’ or as a striker.
