Arsenal eye transfer for Bundesliga starlet

Julian Draxler (Schalke)Arsenal are lining up a move for Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Gunners are set to up their transfer activity in the coming days in a bid to ease growing tension among supporters.

So far, the London club have only signed Yaya Sanogo and brought back Mathieu Flamini – both on free transfers – this summer, while missing out on a number of big names such as Luis Suarez, Luiz Gustavo and Gonzalo Higuain.

But, Wenger is ready to make a late move for Draxler in a bid to remedy the problem.

It is thought that an offer of £40m is being lined up, which may cause the Bundesliga club to consider selling, despite them having slapped an astonishing £60m price tag on the 19-year-old.

Draxler is seen as one of the finest young players in German football, and has been a regular part of the Schalke first-team for some time.

He performed frequently in the Champions League last term, and has been tipped to establish himself in the German national team over the course of the next few years.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have ended their interest in Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye.

The Magpies were holding out for an offer of £12m, but Wenger was unwilling to match such a figure.

Arsenal fans, would signing Julian Draxler make up for a summer of disappointment?
