Arsenal are considering a surprise bid for Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, as reported by talkSPORT.
The 23-year-old left the Gunners in 2012 after spending four years with them as a youngster, but could now return to north London if reports of Arsenal’s interest are true.
talkSPORT are reporting that Arsene Wenger is eyeing Ozyakup as the ideal player to help strengthen the defensive midfield area of his side.
But Besiktas are reportedly keen on keeping hold of the midfielder and have placed to a £15m price tag on him to help warn off potential suitors, such as Arsenal.
The Turkey international made two League Cup appearances for Arsenal in the 2011/2012 campaign before leaving for Besiktas in a £500k move the following summer.
Ozyakup has since made 108 first team appearances for Besiktas, scoring 13 goals and making 28 assists.
Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday catapulted them in to second in the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Manchester City.
