Arsenal are closing in on a £2.5million move for Malaga defender Vitorino Antunes, according to Metro.
Arsene Wenger has made it no secret that he needs to shore up his defensive options in January, and he has identified the 27-year-old as a cheap and worthwhile option.
Antunes has failed to agree a new deal with the La Liga club, with his contract set to expire in 2016, and Arsenal are preparing make an approach for for the Portugal international during in January.
Wenger has seen his side suffer with a number of injuries to his first-choice players this season, such as Mathieu Debuchy who has been ruled out of action for three months.
And Antunes, who played for Roma before moving to Spain, could prove to be a snip at just £2.5m and worthwhile cover for his injury ravaged defence.
