Arsenal are plotting a surprise loan swoop for Atletico Madrid forward Alessia Cerci, according to talkSPORT.
The 27-year-old was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium last summer before he eventually left Torino for the La Liga champions.
But the Italy international has struggled for game time so far this season and it is believed Atletico boss Diego Simeone is prepared to allow the striker to leave on loan in January.
Arsene Wenger has reportedly made enquiries about the possibility of bringing Cerci in on loan in January until the end of the season, while a number of Serie A clubs are hopeful of bringing him back to Italy.
Tottenham, who have also been linked with a move for Cerci in the past, may also rekindle their interest in January as they look to boost their attacking options.
