Arsenal are considering moves for Napoli’s Jorginho and Genoa’s Diego Perotti, according to Metro.
Their two respective clubs faced one another today and Arsene Wenger saw it as a golden opportunity to send chief scout Tony Banfield.
Sadly, he witnessed a 0-0 draw that was more about Genoa holding firm than a standout performance from any individual.
It’s title chasing Napoli that will command a far larger fee for the Brazilian born Jorginho. He was signed for £7m in January 2014 and since then his reputation has continued to grow. He holds an Italian passport so would count as an EU player.
Working as a deep-lying midfielder he would add an extra dynamic to an already talented Arsenal side.
