The 19-year-old left-back has been one of the stars of Los Che’s impressive start to the season, starting all but three games for the club despite his age.
His performances have been earning much praise in La Liga, and have alerted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Reports suggest that a £15m bid was lodged by the Gunners, but that Valencia have dismissed their interest.
And the player has dealt the London club a further blow by confirming that he’s talking about a fresh deal at the Mestalla:
“I’m calm, I’m in good hands and have a three-year contract,” he said on the speculation surrounding his future.” He said.
“Discussing my renewal is a sign that things are going well for me, so I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.”
Arsenal may, however, clinch a deal for another La Liga star in the shape of Villarreal’s Gabriel Paulista, who will cost £15m.
The Gunners have already signed Polish midfielder Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw this month.
