Arsenal fans on Twitter have advised the club against a move for Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti to replace Laurent Koscielny this summer.

According to L'equipe, Koscielny could depart north London after the Europa League final and the Gunners are looking to replace their captain with a €60m (£53m) move for Umtiti.

Koscielny was forced to miss the first half of the season with an achilles injury but returned to play 29 matches in all competitions while starting both legs of the Gunners' Europa League semi-final victory against Valencia.

Umtiti was a regular for France during their triumphant 2018 World Cup, but a knee injury coupled with a downward spiral of form has seen the Cameroonian-born defender struggle to win back his place in Ernesto Valverde's team, as he made just 14 La Liga appearances.

Despite the 25-year old's stunning CV that includes two La Liga titles and a pair of Copa Del Rey trophies, in addition to the World Cup, Arsenal supporters have been scared off by his injury record.
