Arsenal fans are absolutely crucifying Alex Iwobi after the young winger struggled in the Gunners’ 4-1 win over West Ham on Sunday.

There hasn’t been too much to cheer about for Arsenal fans this season, but the announcement that Arsene Wenger will leave the club this summer was certainly a relief to some.

Fans were expecting a big performance to match the big announcement, and although they won 4-1, it wasn’t exactly a superb performance.

The Gunners put the game to bed in fantastic style in the closing stages, but it certainly wasn’t perfect, and Alex Iwobi in particular is facing some serious flak from fans.

Iwobi has often been the scapegoat when the Gunners have performed badly this season, as fans feel that despite his pace and desire he just simply doesn’t have the quality to compete at a top club.

The 21 year-old has managed two goals and five assists in 18 Premier League starts, but had a miserable afternoon on Sunday.

Iwobi suffered three unsuccessful touches, the most on his team, and just generally struggled to make any positive impact on the game.
