Arsenal fans back Ramsey to thrive under Unai Emery

Arsenal’s new era could begin as early as this week as widespread reports have claimed that Arsene Wenger’s successor will be appointed imminently.

According to BBC Sport, the Gunners board have unanimously decided to hire former Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery.

The Premier League giants will not have to worry about compensation fee due to the fact that the Spaniard was sacked by PSG earlier this month.

Emery managed to guide the French club to the Ligue 1 title, but they stumbled in the Champions League, which seemed to be the final straw.

Former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta was thought to be an early contender, but his lack of experience may have cost him the role.

The Sun reports that the North London outfit were heavily impressed by Emery’s presentation in the interview stage.

The publication adds that the former Sevilla boss intends to build the team around Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt.

In our recent poll, the majority of Arsenal fans backed Ramsey to stay at the club, despite the fact that talks regarding a new contract are yet to get underway.

It seems that Emery shares the same idea about the Wales international, and fans think that the midfielder could be the star under the new manager.
