Now that Arsenal fans have come to terms with the fact that Arsene Wenger will be leaving his role as manager this summer, attention has turned to potential replacements.

The club have not given any indication as to who will take the Emirates hotseat, but numerous names have emerged from the rumour mill.

One such figure has been Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, and Arsenal fans assessed the Argentine’s during Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg in North London.

The 47-year-old is known for creating teams that are difficult to break down, but he is also known for his fiery antics on the touchline, which landed him in trouble against Arsenal.

Simeone was sent to the stands by the referee after reacting angrily to the sending-off of Sime Vrsaljko, just 10 minutes into the game.

The contest ended in a 1-1 draw, with Atletico taking the edge due to Antoine Griezmann scoring a crucial away goal ahead of next week’s second leg at the Vicente Calderon.

On Twitter, Arsenal fans debated whether or not Simeone, who has won five trophies as Atletico boss, would be a good fit for their club.
