Arsenal are reportedly set to appoint Unai Emery as Arsene Wenger's successor, and Gunners fans are confident that powerful Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi, rated at £27m by Transfermarkt, will be his first signing.

The 46-year-old will arrive at the north London outfit having been sacked by Paris Saint-Germain, and he will look to get to work straightaway in the transfer market in order to try and lift a club that struggled during Arsene Wenger's final season in charge.

One position he may look to strengthen is in the defensive midfield position, and he may have the answer with a player in Nzonzi he knows well having worked with the Sevilla midfielder during his time at the helm of the La Liga side.

Arsenal supporters, the majority of whom want to see Hector Bellerin replaced by a 26-year-old Frenchman at right-back this summer, have been quick to have their say on a potential reunion between Emery and the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City star on Twitter.

While one said a deal is "nailed on", another said "Nzonzi would be a monumental signing for us".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
