Arsenal have been knocked out of the UEFA Europa League at the semi-final stage after being defeated 2-1 on aggregate by Atletico Madrid.

With the tie in the balance at 1-1 heading into Thursday night's match in Spain, the Gunners were hopeful of grabbing a vital away goal that would put them in good shape to go through.

However, a Diego Costa effort ensured Diego Simeone's side progress to the final and ended Arsenal's hopes of silverware this season, also ensuring they will not being playing UEFA Champions League football next term.

It was a sad part of the final chapter in Arsene Wenger's career at the club but away from that sentimentality, fans were left frustrated by performances from a number of key players.

One player singled out for particular criticism was Hector Bellerin, who was very wasteful in the final third and failed to consistently supply a final ball for Arsenal's more attacking players.

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his display...
