Arsenal fans debate whether transfer window has been successful

When Unai Emery was appointed manager of Arsenal, all eyes were on him.

Not only did he have the pressure of succeeding Arsene Wenger, the Spaniard had to quickly make his mark in the transfer window.

The former Paris Saint-Germain boss started off by boosting the team’s defensive elements.

Stephan Lichtsteiner signed from Juventus on a free transfer before goalkeeper Bernd Leno joined from Bayer Leverkusen.

Centre-back Sokratis was brought in to help improve the club’s back line, but Emery did not bring in another defender that some fans had hoped for.

Lucas Torreira was the only first-team midfielder to be bought, while Matteo Guendouzi also signed on the dotted line, but the teenager is expected to be one for the future.

Rumours were flying around that Emery was keen to recruit a new winger, and numerous names were linked, but a transfer never materialised.

The Gunners will kick off their Premier League campaign with a huge test against Manchester City on Sunday, but before that ArsenalFanTV asked supporters how they would sum up the transfer window.
