Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco impressed for Spain in their narrow 1-0 victory against Iran on Wednesday which left them in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup, and Arsenal fans have urged their club to sign the 26-year-old, rated at £67.5m by Transfermarkt.

The La Liga star started in a central attacking midfield role behind Diego Costa, and while he didn't assist the Atletico Madrid man for his goal or get on the score-sheet himself, he still impressed by having 138 touches and a passing accuracy of more than 92%, as per WhoScored.com, while he had four shots, made one key pass and successfully completed nine dribbles.

New Gunners boss Unai Emery may not be in the market for a signing in that position given he already has the likes of Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey in his team, but he could be tempted if Real were willing to sell.

Arsenal supporters, who hate the idea of Sven Mislintat sanctioning a huge £47m summer deal, were quick to have their say on Isco's latest display via social media, and while one said "I'd take Isco ahead of Ozil any day of the week", another said "I would trade Ozil, Ramsey and Auba for Isco".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
