Arsene Wenger’s final match at Old Trafford as Arsenal boss on Sunday didn’t end with the positive result he was hoping for as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat in the English Premier League.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan cancelled out Paul Pogba’s opener shortly after half-time and the Gunners looked on their way to a hard earned point before Marouane Fellaini popped up in stoppage time to send them back to London with nothing.
Wenger made eight changes to the side ahead of their crucial UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday and while fans recognised it was always going to be difficult when this was the case, they were still disappointed with some key performers.
Much of the criticism was aimed at star January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who failed to impress in attack all afternoon.
The striker has been in lethal form recently, with five goals and three assists in his last six matches before the Old Trafford trip. However, he has struggled in matches against the top six since joining from Dortmund and supporters are looking for more.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance…
I still haven’t seen anyone talk about Aubameyang going missing for 90 mins. I’m disappointed in him I can’t lie

Watching the game today made me realise just how much better Lacazette is to Aubameyang. If Laca doesn't score, he's constantly involved in build up. Creating chances, through balls, you name it. Auba was the definition of ghost today…

On the flip side, Aubameyang had a stinker

Aubameyang and Xhaka both with hall of shame performances ffs. Really struggling to see this Auba hype, has gone in total and complete hiding in every important Arsenal fixture since he arrived at the club.

Bellerin was shit throughout the game.
Iwobi was useless throughout the game.
Aubameyang disappeared throughout the game.#MUNARS

Yes we lost but am proud of the boys today especially the young lads👏. Really held it together for most part of the game. It's just unfortunate Aubameyang went MIA upfront. Disappointing display from Pierre.👎#MUNARS

Disappointed with Aubameyang today. Yes he didnt get the service but he looked really lethargic today. Which is weird. He played like what 20mins the week before? Looked really slow

I know Aubameyang ain’t playing with the usual first team so it must be hard. That don’t mean he don’t try or anything. He needs to lead the youngsters by example. It don’t matter though now.
