Arsenal fans divided as reports claim Gunners will miss out on Yannick Carrasco signing

After witnessing an entire season of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi being the side’s best wingers, it’s fair to say Arsenal fans were probably counting down the days to the opening of the summer transfer window.

Unai Emery’s side lacked real pace out wide and the loan signing of Barcelona man Denis Suarez was an abject failure, so reports in recent weeks of the north London side being linked with a host of new names has gone down fairly well.

However, despite earlier reports that Dalian Yifang star Yannick Carrasco had agreed personal terms with the Gunners, The Sun now claim that the Chinese outfit’s £30m valuation has forced the Premier League side out of the running.

After the latest setback, Arsenal fans on Twitter were seemingly unsurprised that they had missed out on signing Carrasco and felt the mentality on display was that of a ‘mediocre club’.

Others however seemed to convey a sense of relief that the Belgian international would not be arriving at the Emirates this summer , and suggested Bournemouth pace merchant Ryan Fraser would be a far better option for the Gunners with his proven experience in English football.
