Arsenal didn't get off to the best start in the Premier League as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to champions Manchester City in the opening round of fixtures.

New boss Unai Emery couldn't have asked for a tougher start, with Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea up next for the Gunners.

After bringing in a number of new faces this summer, Emery elected not to start with their most expensive recruit Lucas Torriera, instead opting for Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and youngster Matteo Guendouzi in midfield.

Torreira, who signed for an estimated £25million, could only make the bench, and came on for the disappointing Granit Xhaka in the 70th minute.

Many Arsenal fans were perplexed with Emery's decision to leave out the Uruguay international against the champions who overran Arsenal across the pitch.

The supporters have been reacting on social media to Torreira's omission and here's a selection of what they've had to say.
