After the doom and gloom of their embarrassing Europa League final defeat to Chelsea, the summer transfer window has taken on extra importance for Arsenal and their future.

Reports have suggested that the Gunners will only have around £40m before sales to spend, and with the market getting crazier by the year, that just doesn't seem anywhere near enough.

However, according to a huge update from Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Unai Emery's side are "finalising the last details" of a deal to bring long-term target Yannick Carrasco to the Emirates, and the Belgian has already agreed personal terms with the club.

After hearing the news, Gunners fans took to social media to reveal their delight at being close to making their first signing of the summer, and declared their satisfaction at seeing someone of Carrasco's class potentially join.

Arsenal were woefully short of real quality in wide areas last season, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi both combining for a total of 12 goals across all competitions last season.

Indeed, as well as seeing Carrasco as a major upgrade on their current options, some supporters of the north London side pointed back to the 25-year-old's starring performance for AS Monaco at the Emirates in a Champions League tie in 2015, when he scored in a 3-1 win for the French outfit.

With a deal inching ever closer, check out some of the excited reaction of Arsenal fans on Twitter below:
