The average English football fan will not remember much of Jeff Reine-Adelaide.

The former Arsenal youngster made just eight appearances for the Gunners, none of which came in the Premier League.

In the end, the 21-year-old signed for Angers for just £1.44m last summer after a six-month spell with the Ligue 1 outfit.

His career has picked up since then, though. He played 35 times in France's top tier last term, scoring three goals and registering three assists, and he has hit the ground running this campaign after notching a goal and an assist on the first matchday of the French season.

Thanks to his performances, Lyon have noticed him, and a deal has been agreed, with some outlets reporting an initial fee of €25m (£23.2m) plus bonuses.

Gunners fans have taken notice of the developments, and they are unhappy with what they see as bad business by the Arsenal hierarchy in letting a player go who is now worth a considerable sum. They have been commenting on the news of his impending transfer on Twitter, and you can see some of the best reactions below...
