After arriving from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018, Lucas Torreira quickly established himself as a cult hero at the Emirates with his goal and celebration in the 4-2 triumph over north London rivals Tottenham.

The Uruguay international enjoyed a relatively impressive debut campaign in English football, averaging 1.9 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game in the Premier League.

This season has seen him play a slightly different role to his more natural holding midfield position, with Unai Emery appearing to prefer him further forward. The Gunners boss even remarked that Torreira could help the side with his ability to win the ball back high up the pitch.

But in a report by Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb, the 23-year-old has become increasingly convinced of the idea of leaving the Emirates, and is particularly upset with how Emery is using him in games.

After hearing the update on Torreira's future, Arsenal fans flooded to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the situation.

Many supporters of the north London side insisted that the £49.5m-rated ace would be a big loss for the club, and that Emery is largely to blame for the midfielder's dissatisfaction.
