The Premier League announced on Monday that Mike Dean had been chosen to officiate in the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Saturday, and Gunners fans are not impressed.

Arsene Wenger's side lie in sixth having lost four of their opening 11 Premier League matches this season, and they won't want another defeat against their third-placed arch-rivals at the weekend.

The Gunners know that they can move to within a point of Spurs if they pick up the three points however, but they don't have a great record when Dean is in the middle – including in the NLD – who has become renowned for dishing out more red cards and awarding more penalties than other referees perhaps do.

Arsenal supporters were quick to have their say on the announcement via social media, and while one labelled the decision as "scandalous", another described it as a "sick joke".
