Club rivalries are the ultimate talking point in football. The proverbial 'bragging rights', claiming an entire city as your own after a hard-fought victory or finishing above them in the league are just some of the major themes behind trying to assert your superiority.

In north London, it's fair to say recent years have seen Arsenal and Tottenham really go at it hammer and tongs. The Gunners reigned supreme for almost the entire 22 years of Arsene Wenger's tenure, but Spurs have undergone a major revival under their Argentine boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, following Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's celebration of his 30th birthday on Tuesday, the official Spurs Twitter account seemed to aim a not-so-subtle dig at the Gabonese striker by posting a video of his missed penalty in the north London derby at Wembley last season.

The tweet seemed to irk many Arsenal supporters, who quickly leapt to their striker's defence and aimed a series of barrages at Pochettino's side.

Some simply urged Aubameyang to show Spurs his Golden Boot for scoring 22 goals whilst others mocked Spurs for ending the season without any trophies again.

Indeed, others seemed to think the post was another sign that the Gunners' rivals were still being pre-occupied by those at the Emirates and felt the club were "celebrating mediocrity" again.
