Eddie Nketiah was handed his first start of the season by Unai Emery on Thursday night as Arsenal cruised to a 3-0 victory over Vorskla Poltava in a Europa League match in Kiev.

Two of the Gunners’ goals came courtesy of Nketiah’s fellow academy graduates, Emile Smith Rowe and Joe Willock, whilst one of the north London outfit’s more senior stars, Aaron Ramsey, also converted from the penalty spot.

Though Nketiah couldn’t find the back of the net himself, the 19-year-old striker was still one of the stars of the show. The intelligent movement, hard running and technical level he displayed will certainly encourage plenty of Arsenal fans that the England under-21 international has what it takes to make the breakthrough into the first team at the Emirates Stadium.

After his all-action display on Thursday night, plenty of Arsenal fans took to Twitter to heap praise on the promising Lewisham-born forward.
