Is there a more popular figure at the Emirates than Lucas Torreira? The little Uruguayan has been a revelation for the Gunners since arriving from Sampdoria last summer with his all-action displays in north London.

The 23-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances and has offered Unai Emery's side that much-needed bite in midfield, and at just £26m, can be considered a real bargain.

It's therefore no surprise that Torreira has seen his name linked with a move away in recent weeks, with Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb claiming that Serie A giants Milan are considering taking the midfielder back to Italy.

The report was understandably met with disdain by Arsenal fans on Twitter, with many appearing to take aim at former chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

Gazidis moved to the San Siro from Arsenal last year, and many Gunners supporters felt that a move for someone like Torreira was "typical" of their former chief, who did not exactly endear himself to supporters during his stay in north London.

Whilst most completely rejected the idea of their pint-sized midfielder leaving the club after just one season, some suggested that the Gunners should ask for a ridiculous sum to see if Milan were willing to bite.
