According to The Sun, Reiss Nelson is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery has clearly identified Nelson as one of the brightest emerging talents at the club and has acted quickly to try and tie down the youngster’s long term future at the Emirates.
The 18-year-old winger made his debut for the club last season under Arsene Wenger, and has impressed during this pre-season too. Over the course of the upcoming campaign, Nelson will be eager to build upon the 16 appearances he made in all competitions last time out.

The England under-19 international has huge potential, but with only one year remaining on his current deal, there was increasing concern that his future lay outside of North London.
The news that Nelson is now close to agreeing upon new terms has been greeted with great excitement by Arsenal fans on Twitter.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions…

Great news that Nelson is signing a new contract. Ramsey situation had deflected the attention but Nelson too only had a year remaining and it was a little concerning thinking he may have had a reason not to sign. Luckily he is pledging his future to Arsenal which is fantastic.

Nelson definitely has a golden chance to make it at Arsenal. No wide players at this club, could be the one who is needed

According to some sources, Reiss Nelson has signed a new long term contract at Arsenal, believed to be a five year deal. He’s homegrown, incredibly talented and is probably the only natural winger that we have at the club currently. Great news for all involved if true!
