Arsenal fans pile in after Tottenham’s Champions League exit

Tottenham went toe to toe with Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League but ultimately were beaten, losing the tie 4-3 on aggregate.

The performance of Mauricio Pochettino’s side has drawn widespread plaudits but Arsenal fans, unsurprisingly, are having none of it.

In spite of the fact that the Gunners have spent this season outside Europe’s elite competition and that their only realistic prospect of getting back in next time around is by winning the Europa League, their fans could barely contain themselves after Tottenham’s elimination.

After years of eliminations at the last 16 stage of the Champions League, Arsenal fans seem to be enjoying not being the North London side knocked out in the first knockout round this time around – even though that’s only because they’re not in the competition.
