Arsenal fans pleased to see Welbeck return

Arsenal responded from a goal down to defeat Preston North End in the FA Cup third-round, securing a 2-1 win, and a certain Danny Welbeck made a long-awaited return to the Arsenal fold.

Making his first appearance since May, Welbeck was introduced as a second-half substitute and made his return from injury, with fans hoping his injury problems are now behind him and that the former Manchester United man can become a hit in North London.

Welbeck’s performance wasn’t stand-out and Arsenal can expect a lot more from him but Gooners on social media were thrilled to see their striker make his return and all seemed excited for what he could achieve in the months ahead.

With his stand-out moment last season coming as a late winner against eventual champions Leicester City, in a goal that put Arsenal back in the hunt for the title as things stood, Arsene Wenger’s side will hope Welbeck can net some similarly important goals this season and hope for better fortune come the end of the campaign.
