Arsenal may not be able to bring in any defensive recruits but they could see one of their defenders leave before the European transfer market closes.
The man in question happens to be Nacho Monreal who according to various sources could be on the move.
However, it was a piece of news that left many Arsenal fans rather baffled on Twitter as they reacted to the events that were playing out.
One said they couldn’t understand the move because of concerns over Kieran Tierney’s fitness. The left back is currently out with a groin issue and isn’t due back until October.
Another said it would be a very risky transfer because it would only leave one man in Sead Kolasinac fit enough to play in that role.
A further fan labelled it as a big mistake.
Monreal has played in all three of Arsenal’s Premier League matches so far but is only managing an average rating of 6.62 per WhoScored.
Here’s the best of the discussion.
I can’t understand this move. We don’t even know how fit Tierney will be

Don’t feel great about this…Nacho is a handy player to have…would have kept him till the end of the season

This makes no sense at the moment. Tierney is out until October meaning we only have Kolasinac who has shown can’t play LB.

Very risky move considering Kolasinac will be our only fit LB.

Terrible move. He is covering Tierney and can do a job in a back 3. I have a feeling this is not Emery’s call. Financial decision

Another big mistake

Sad if true as would have been a good sub this season, but wish him well if he does leave

If this is true then its not a wise decision.
