Arsenal fans react as Arteta and Allegri emerge as leading managerial candidates

Arsene Wenger was given a wonderful send-off on and off the pitch by Arsenal on Sunday but the search for his successor has meandered since it was announced he was leaving.

The powers that be at the Emirates appear undecided over whether to go for youth or experience, which may not be especially encouraging for Gunners fans who were hoping to see a clear succession plan to move forward following the departure of the legendary Frenchman.

The latest development is that Juventus boss Max Allegri and Manchester City assistant manager Mikel Arteta have emerged as the two leading candidates to take over in the North London hotseat.

The fact that they are of two contrasting styles and experiences only serves to underline the idea that Arsenal are not convinced about what they are looking for and the reaction from the club’s fans has also been mixed as well.
