Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen scored a hat-trick as Denmark qualified for the 2018 World Cup with a 5-1 win against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday night, and Arsenal fans have had their say on his showing ahead of the North London derby on Saturday.
After drawing 0-0 in the first leg of their play-off match, the Danes knew that a score draw would be enough to take them to Russia, but they had other ideas as they ran out comfortable 5-1 winners on the night.
Eriksen scored three magnificent goals – taking his tally to 11 for his country during the qualification process – and it would have been a blow for the Gunners, who are hoping to close the gap on their arch-rivals in the Premier League to just one point with victory at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
Arsenal supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the 25-year-old’s latest performance, and while one simply labelled it as “concerning”, another said “I’m so scared” of him.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
At least Eriksen looks in bad form ready for the NLD Saturday 😐

Nice to see Lacazette and Iwobi banging them in tonight ahead of the #NLD. Concerning to see that Christian Eriksen seems to be absolutely on fire though. Should be a great, nerve-shredding game as usual

Good thing Christian Eriksen has used up all his goals tonight against the Irish, 3 & counting That means no scoring on Saturday in the NLD.
